Everyone wants to believe the water coming out of their tap is safe. But for millions that certainty simply does not exist. It was this fear and frustration that inspired Founder and CEO José Monge Castro to create Segura. The mission was clear: no family, school or community should have to worry about whether their water is safe.
His unique experience in global water challenges and diagnostic healthcare led to a breakthrough meant José saw something others had missed.
What if testing water could be as easy as testing blood sugar? The answer to that question became Segura. Traditional water testing is slow, expensive and difficult. Samples must be collected, transported to laboratories and analysed by specialists. Results can take up to six weeks, assuming you even have access to a lab. With millions of homes still connected to lead pipes and thousands of people exposed to dangerous contaminants in their water, the stakes could not be higher. Segura’s portable device allows anyone to test for dangerous contaminants in minutes. No calibration. No specialist training.
