Baseimmune is harnessing its antigen design platform to tackle fibrosis, a complex disease characterised by the formation of scar tissue. Starting with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, a lung condition, the team is driving towards enabling studies and clinical trials as they scale.

Baseimmune is a pre-clinical biotech company with an ambitious goal. They’re using their antigen design platform – which combines computational design and advanced protein engineering – to tackle fibrosis, a complex disease characterised by the excessive formation of scar tissue.

The vision? Creating bespoke antigens that not only address the complexity of chronic diseases, but also transform patient outcomes through innovation.

Right now they’re in build mode. Co-founder and CSO Joshua Blight points out that the focus is on generating data. “We are utilising the technology we spent time developing to help address fibrosis”. The goal is to use that approach to develop new therapies for fibrosis, generating the evidence needed to select the strongest candidates and advance them towards clinical development.
