Most tech watchers already know that Israel is a global leader in the tech industry. But they may not realize the degree to which Israeli founders punch above their weight, specifically when it comes to serial founders.

HSBC co-authored this report with venture capitalist Battery Ventures using new data from Dealigence to tell the story of Israeli serial founders.

Key findings

Israel leads the world in serial founders.

  • 1 in every 22 startups here is led by a repeat founder — the highest ratio globally.

Despite its size, Israel represents ~10 % of all serial-founder-led startups worldwide, equal to France and Germany combined.

  • Funding to Israeli repeat founders grew faster year-over-year than in any other ecosystem.

Fewer rounds, much bigger checks — a clear signal of investor confidence.

  • Israel ranks #1 globally in per-capita AI usage, using Claude AI 7× more than expected.

Early adoption accelerates iteration and fuels the next generation of serial founders.

The Result

A small nation driving outsized global impact — where experience, capital, and technology combine to deliver some of the strongest startup outcomes anywhere in the world.
