Alan Watters is Head of Innovation Banking for HSBC Australia and New Zealand. As the only specialised banking service for the local tech and venture ecosystem in this market, Alan works to connect the local ecosystem with capital, customers, and partners to fast-track global growth.

Prior to this Alan was the Tech Sector Lead for HSBC Australia and New Zealand. In this role Alan was responsible for building out the Corporate & Institutional Bank’s broader technology sector coverage across Australia and New Zealand. As part of his role Alan was also responsible for the launch of HSBC Australia’s venture debt offering across Australian and New Zealand.

With over 20 years’ experience in financial services Alan has a deep knowledge across both retail and corporate banking in multiple markets (including Ireland, UK and Australia), with an expertise in international business development, stakeholder engagement and strategic growth initiatives.
